You are invited to an exhibition of new paintings by Chelsea artist Dave Fisher at Galerie Mauve from March 13 to April 18.On Sunday March 21^st ,1-4 p.m. you can meet the artist.  

       Dave is an exceptional and inspired artist who has worked for many years in a style of realism that captures mood and light in the landscape. Recently he has discovered a new direction that still show his painterly skills but in a unique style. One could simply describe his new work as “stunning figurative puzzles“. These paintings use fluid animal forms and human figures blending in an aquatic environment. Intricate details and complex compositions combine to create fascinating images that are sure to intrigue and arouse curiosity.  

         Dave Fisher is a hidden gem in the artistic landscape of our region. We hope you can come and be one of the first to see what we hope will be a breakthrough for this very talented artist.

We are hosting the sixth Chelsea Erotica Show.This year we expect many new artists to participate.The vernissage starts at 7 and at 9ish the Doozy Candle Dance party starts right across the street,but the Gallery will stay open for people to see the art.Hope to see you here.The exibition will run until feb.28.

Call to artists:

This year, the popular annual art orgy is being hosted by ‘Galerie Mauve’. We have chosen the name ‘Eye Candy’.

We are asking for artists of all mediums to submit work that reflects the theme of eroticism, love and beauty.

We are accepting 2 pieces (two small max. 12 x 18 or one large max. 24” x 36”) work needs to be ready to hang. The pieces are to be dropped off at Galerie Mauve on Feb 6 and 7 between 12 & 5. Please RSVP if you plan to submit work. The show opens with a vernissage and Dance, Friday February 12 at 7pm. The show will run until February 21^st.

Work will be shown at the discretion of Galerie Mauve.

Galerie Mauve’s Holiday Exhibition: The Art Of Giving

From Novemeber 23rd until December 31st, the Gallery will be introducing a mixed artists show, featuring new and already in-house artwork from in and around the Gatineau Hills.

In the spirit of giving for the upcoming Christmas season, all pieces within the Gallery will be Sales Tax Free, and the Old Chelsea Slip Cover Company next door will have 25% off all cushions!!

At the onset of the Second World War, Robert Hyndman joined the RCAF. His sketching and painting attracted the attention of The Canadian War Art Programme, and he was appointed as an official war artist. He created sixty-eight war paintings (mostly portraits), which now belong to the Canadian War museum.

  In 1947, Robert set up a studio in Ottawa. Critics were quick to acclaim his talents and his war paintings became the launching pad for a career that has included numerous exhibits and many years of teaching at The Banff School of Fine Arts and The Ottawa School of Art.

   Figure painting and drawing have always been a passion for Robert. He has always been fascinated with drawing from life. His portrait painting has taken him too many countries and has included a broad range of subjects from society matrons and government officials to businessmen and military personnel.

  Robert still lives and works in Old Chelsea, Quebec at the age of 94.

 Galerie Mauve is now preparing for its first solo show featuring the work of Robert Hyndman. This show will be a rare opportunity to acquire recent and past works from his private collection.  

This show will be of interest to collectors of fine Canadian art, and historians alike.

The show opens with a vernissage on Nov 5,  7 pm-10 pm. It will run until Nov 21.
